Stand To Reason

I just got back from a presentation at my church by Greg Koukl of Stand to Reason. The topic was "Has God Spoken?" and was a basic apologetics course on the historicity of the Bible. They were also offering Hugh Hewitt's book, "In, But Not Of" for sale. I bought a bunch of books and can't wait to dig in.

I looked at Greg Koukl's website. He's wrong on evolution, unfortunately. He falls for the old canard that somehow evolutionary scientists can declare for certain that God does or does not exist. That's wrong and just plain silly. As an agnostic who's spent some time reading the arguments, I believe science has nothing to do with God. A scientist like Dawkins declaring God doesn't exist is as stupid as a reverend on Sunday declaring that science is wrong. I say "unfortunately" because guys like Greg Koukl seem to think now they have to defeat science, evolution in particular, to prove Christianity. They're afraid of bright guys like Dawkins. Certainly evolution and God can coexist. Don't be afraid of accepting the coexistence. Don't listen to egomaniacs like Dawkins. Listen instead to the average biologist who attends his or her church each Sunday. He'll explain how he performs science 6 days of the week, and spends Sunday at church.

As usual, "Broken Masterpieces" is one of the most interesting blogs around. Why more people don't post here and read trogers' posts is a mystery to me. Maybe it just takes time. Best wishes. ---Kurt

Kurt: Just found your comments 7 months later. You're using a term I've never heard before, "blog". What does that mean?
