Is It Worth It?

So the Supreme Court will not reverse the case against Judge Moore in Alabama. Now, protesters are getting arrested (see CNN story). Even though I think it's a bit silly to have to remove the display is it worth going to the mat for? I really don't think so. Will one life be changed because of this display? Doubtful.

I don't think the display is unconstitutional because there isn't an actual religion being pushed.

Howdy - I've linked your blog on my blog because I think your blog is great. This is just a friendly suggestion. Instead of saying, "Anyone who doesn't think 'assertion X is true' needs a drug test," it might be more helpful to give some supporting evidence of assertion X. I know, it sounds trite and you've probably heard it before, but believe me, I was doing the same thing myself until I realized it really doesn't get us anywhere. Even for the most trivial assertions, citing some examples would be helpful to readers who may be predisposed to disagree with your point of view (of which I am not one).

fyi, I got your link from Hugh Hewitt and I enjoyed your post refuting Kristof's rather silly piece on faith and "intellectual rigor." You're certainly correct: Kristof is essentially saying that anyone who believes in miracles is a dunderhead.
