Al Franken - Radio Talk Show Host?

Newsmax is reporting that Al Franken is in talks to host a radio talk show. All I can say is, bring it on! Al Franken is on the looney left. His vision is so clouded with hatred for Bush and other conservatives that he's illogical and just makes an idiot of himself. Let's get Michael Moore a talk show also.

You and other dangerously ignorant people like you are responsible for Bush's rape of the world. You'll believe anything because you are too stupid to reason. Al Franken should wipe his ass with your one brain cell!

Rape the world huh. Oh yeah, you've got lots of substance and reason at your fingertips.

First law of reason, A is A. Rape?

Attack and divert. Sounds familiar. We can expect this to be the level of intellect to populate any left wing radio show.

Give something positive to believe in, then we'll see.

People who do not have your opinions are not evil. George Bush is not evil and neither is Michael Moore. We all have to listen to others. We learn by listening.

Posted by: tom at January 13, 2004 02:08 PM

You've got to be kidding me. You don't think that liberals have reason? Haha. Liberals actual problem is that they are too reasonable. It's these no-brain conservatives that listen to what people like Rush and O'Lielly cram up their ass that lack reason. It's these conservatives that lack any one factor of good thinking that are tearing the country apart. If you don't like the truth take your radio, go into a hole and listen to your conservative radio, and please don't come out and pollute the air with your tragically incorrect, and incoherent rhetoric.

Hoop... Before making any more inane comments, please go back to your obviously incompetent 3rd and 4th grade grammar teachers and slap them silly.

Posted by: Blah at January 14, 2004 08:10 PM

Well, aside from insulting my grammer, it appears that you agree with my statement because you made absolutely no attempt at saying otherwise. You conservatives are hilarious. No, lets not actually address the issue lets insult them and side-step the issue. No doubt a tactic picked up from your precious, drug fiend, Rush. Also, if you are going to insult my grammer please break it down so you conservatives can understand the words. I will also point you to a dictionary.

Posted by: hoop at January 15, 2004 06:53 AM

Al is funny. The radio show should be entertaining.

Posted by: mreman at January 15, 2004 02:10 PM

Anyone who would make such a comment is only displaying their obvious uneasiness with the fact that Al Franken will bring the little known facts to the spot light. You don't hear anyone complain when another conservative talk show emerges, you may hear people say it sucks, but that's another story. If you think his opinions are clouded by hatred, then maybe you should take a long hard look at who he's got his hatred towards. Maybe you'll see that there is factual reasoning for his discontent with conservatives. He doesn't resort to stupid mud slinging tactics and name calling. He uses FACTS; something many conservatives, especially in the talk radio world, have used little in their time on the air. So give the guy a chance. If you can uncloud your thick heads enough to listen to someone before you call them names. After all, we've been listening to your crap for far too long.

Al Franken is really smart as well as really funny. It would be nice to have a "fair and balanced" radio talk show host for once. Or as Franken puts it "Drug-Free" Radio. *Zing* Take that Limbaugh

Posted by: Chris Pol at January 19, 2004 01:30 PM

Will the Clear Channel monopoly put Al on my radio? Please God let it be so. I remember a time before Bush when there was left and right on the air. Now there is only wrong.

Posted by: James at January 19, 2004 09:22 PM

He isn't good enough. He isn't smart enough. And gosh darn, people don't like him!

AL FRANKEN ROCKS!!!! George Dubyah can suck it! He lied to Americans, Congress, the UN, and the Iraq people. There were no weapons of mass destruction, or even a connection to Al Queda. Congratulations Bush Jr, on making America look like incompetent dickheads around the world!!

All of you people fail to realize that the best thing that ever happened to Mr. W. Bush was 9/11/01. It set him on a course to promote his agenda by keeping U.S. citizens fearful and in the dark. Let's all call for a FULL investigation of what this resident knows and when did he know it. I personally believe that he looked the other way after being told or having information about the planned attacks. I know it's cynical but...why won't Bush cooperate with the people looking into this? Why is Hasstert trying to defeat a time extension for the investigation?

Betrayal of First Amendment....

Chief Justice Moore is right: But he lost his job for refusing to ignore our Constitution....

Supreme Court surely knew that using the word "Congress" in the First Amendment, the Founding Fathers meant the Federal Congress, because there was only one Congress composed of the Senate and the House. But there were 13 States, and if they did mean that the States shall make no law ...., they surely would have worded the negative as they did in the 14th Amendment, where they clearly meant the States: "No State shall make or endorse any law..." In the Constitution the word "No" is used often; Article 1, Section 10:
"No State shall without consent of Congress.." (note many States, one Congress, ) also:
"No State shall enter into any Treaty..." Chief Justice Moore is right:

Betrayal of First Amendment...

Justice Moore lost his job, because he did not want the Ten Commandments be put in a closet, now let us all propagate the truth in this matter, to the news media and Internet by letters and e-mail and bring God back to our Culture and Nation.

The way this country is being run is a disgrace. We have elected leaders who put security ahead of liberty. This is the polar opposite of the values that we began this country with (not that those values were fair, slavery, gentrification, and the exploitation of the lower classes to serve the selfishness of the upper classes. Just to name a few.). Benjamin Franklin would never have agreed to such an unbelievable compromise of civil liberties in favor of security, neither would any of the founding fathers. They fought to give us what they thought of as liberty, regardless of their true motivations, and I want to enjoy it. That's why I can't stand being in this country, the blatant cultural and social oppression, the normalization of all thought, the insipid sensibilities, and the ultimate indifference of the public. American culture is a disgusting thing.

To quote the great Al Franken, "Lets expose them for what they really are...stupid bastards."

A FEW POSTS AGO AN EINO SALMINEN CLAIMED THAT JUDGE MOORE GOT FIRED BECAUSE HE DIDNT WANT TO PUT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN A CLOSET. HA!! I THOUGHT THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED BECAUSE PEOPLE WANTED RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS. YOU CAN'T MAKE EVERYONE BELIEVE WHAT YOU DO. IN THIS COUNTRY EVERY SINGLE PERSON HAS THE RIGHT TO BELIEVE IN WHAT SHE OR HE CHOOSES. ALL YOU RELIGIOUS FANATICS NEED TO GET OVER IT. IT DOESNT SEEM LIKE A SINGLE ONE OF YOU GETS THE REAL MESSAGE JESUS WAS TRYING TO GIVE. I THINK THEY SHOULD PUT A COPY OF THE COMMANDMENTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE. THEY SHOULD HIGHLIGHT A PARTICULAR ONE. THOU SHALT NOT KILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The primary role of the government is to protect it's citizens. One force that we need protection from is terrorism. The only way to do this is to give up some civil rights in exchange for security. However, the government must be careful not to impose to many restrictions on our liberties (eg the Patriot Act). By doing this the government becomes the oppressing force even MORE dangerous than terrorists. They're right here and they've convinced you that they're the good guys. It's ironic that Republicans bitch constantly about big govedrnment but pass legislation such as the Patriot Act giving more power to the government.
The other problem is that to many people are scared now. Someone was telling me he'd rather wait days to get on his plane as long as they checked everyone. This is ridiculous!! People have to face the reality that they're going to die one day. It may be through a terrorist. But if one lives their life in fear that's not really living at all.

Commys/Liberals/Franken.............what's the difference??????

Posted by: stewart smalley at March 2, 2004 06:41 AM

Let's see: "Commys(sp)/Liberals/Franken....what's the difference?" Posted by stewart smalley.

Nice.

Fascism/Totalitarianism/Bush...what's the difference there?

Just in case you aren't up to speed on your political ideology spectrum, stewart smalley, here's a refresher course: Yes, on the left we have communism, socialism, and liberalism, but to the right we have fascism, totalitarianism, and Bush.

I'm no communist or socialist in the slightest, unless you believe that one who believes in helping those who can't help themselves falls within that definition. However, I certainly don't want my morality dictated to me by "my" government. I'd hate to see ALL of us be persecuted because we were free-thinkers or because we might not be classified as born-again Christians.

I haven't heard any centrist or liberal radio shows (are there actually any out there?) sowing the seeds of hatred or persecution, but I definitely get that crawling feeling when I listen to/watch O'Reilly, Limbaugh, and Hannity. I'm not exactly reassured by our foreign policy, either.

I'm an American and I'm proud to be one, but our leaders are a different story entirely.

Let the mindless flaming begin.

Posted by: polisciguy at March 2, 2004 07:07 AM

Even if this is a liberal show, it can only be for the good. Of the top 45 talk radio stations in the nation (almost all of which are owned by ClearChannel) 510 hours a week are devoted to 'conservative' talk radio where as only 5 hours are occupied by 'liberal' talk.

It will be nice to have some balance.

The fact that there're a good few crybaby libs on this page moaning about how Bush is a fascist and conservatives are evil bigots proves that not all knee-jerklefties are as "open-minded" (haha) as Franken wants people to believe.
