Gaffney and Grover

The accusations that Frank Gaffney have made against Grover Norquist about the influence of radical Islamists and Islamist organizations. (To start go to the Powerline entry) I heard a bit of the back and forth on Hugh Hewitt's show yesterday. For the most part I was not convinced that either was convincing enough until Norquist started talking about trusting certain people in the White House because of their security clearances. Let's remember, the people charged in the Gitmo problems had clearances. The perfect types of guys to infiltrate are ones that have clearances. I'm thinking that Norquist is taking too many people at their word and I call on him (as Hugh has) to respond to Gaffney's accusations, paragraph by paragraph.

Just remember, plenty of the later proven communists who were in our governent in the 1940's and 1950's also were considered to be trusted.

UPDATE: More analysis from Powerline.

I think I might disagree with you a tiny bit... Frank seemed straight forward and concerned about the nation as always from the beginning, I thought... compared to Grover's sarcasm, evasiveness, and obnoxious debater's tricks. I think he seemed very guilty...

Yep, after hearing a little bit again tonight I think Grover needs to look in the mirror. This is just sad.
