Did Clinton Believe in an Iraq-al Qaeda Connecton?

The Clinton View of Iraq-al Qaeda Ties

I will also offer a hint to the Democratic candidates on how a presidential candidate is to behave from this article:

The current president certainly agrees. "I think you give the commander in chief the benefit of the doubt," said George W. Bush, governor of Texas, on August 20, 1998, the same day as the U.S. counterstrikes. "This is a foreign policy matter. I'm confident he's working on the best intelligence available, and I hope it's successful."

I think most Americans do give the president the benefit of the doubt to begin with. But for many people, he's frittered that away. For example, the Niger thing. I mean, even if it was unintentional, it was erroneous. And if the president insists upon the baloney "pre-emptive attacks" philosophy, such a principle ABSOLUTELY requires incredibly solid information, not the mishmash of heresay that this war was based on.

There were many reasons to fight this war but the main reason was that Saddam represented (notice the past tense) a future threat to this and other countries. The evidence is in Saddam's actions. A man who used chemical weapons against his own people cannot be trusted in a post-9/11 world.
