G O P.com :: Who Is John Edwards?

“Kerry took aim at Edwards’s lack of military and foreign policy experience while responding to Edwards’s comment that both candidates shared similar plans to rebuild Iraq. ‘Well, I think he would like it to be that way,’ said Kerry, a decorated veteran, ‘but I think I have 35 years of experience in international security, foreign policy, and military affairs, and I think that makes an enormous difference here. I think that the world is looking for leadership that is tested and sure.’” (Raja Mishra, “Edwards And Kerry Emphasize Contrasts,” The Boston Globe, 2/23/04)

I think Kerry was wrong to compare his own foreign policy experience to Edwards'. At least Edwards doesn't have a Senate voting record that was wrong on just about all counts. Sucking up to Daniel Ortega: priceless.

Edwards doesn't have a voting record on foreign policy because this is his first term in Congress (he was elected directly to the Senate, not even having gained experience as a Representative), and he's spent most of that first term running for President and being absent for Senate votes. He's just a pretty-boy millionaire trial lawyer with no proven leadership. He is manifestly unqualified to be the Vice-President of the United States.
