Big Disappointment in Dodger Stadium

For the first time in almost 12 years and for the first time with my family, we went to Dodger Stadium. My memories of Dodger Stadium was filled with cleanliness, friendly people and Dodger Dogs. As we go through security our backpack was rejected as too big. It all depended on how it was measured but in the end we needed to go back to the car and use a shopping bag. We also noticed that the old blue on the outside of the stadium is so faded that it looks greenish. Then we go inside and it just isn't very clean anymore. They used to have people always going around and keeping it clean. The one redeeming part was that one of the workers noticed us leaving our sun drenched seats and pointed to some empty seats in the shade. She really turned our experience around. The Dodger Dogs were still good and they had a great selection of souvenirs. Also, the Dodger home uniforms are plain but amazing (second to Yankee pinstripes).

Maybe we're spoiled by PETCO Park in San Diego. It is so clean and the people are very helpful. Dodger Stadium needs to be renovated and the type of employees need to match the wonderful lady that put us in the shade (she must have been there when the O'Malley's owned them.

The Dodgers did win and Paul LoDuca hit a grand slam. Too bad Eric Gagne didn't make an appearance which did disappoint my sons. All in all a very long trip but good times after a rough start.

I can't wait to check out Petco Park, in San Diego. I was able to catch a game at Qualcomm (Jack Murphy?) Stadium last year. It was the Fourth of July, Barry Bonds hit a homerun and there were great fireworks afterwards. I checked out the kiosk that had info and pics of Petco and saw the stadium before it was finished in the Gaslight area.

Always wanted to go to Dodger Stadium, too.

What the Dodgers need to do is move back to Brooklyn where they belong! This flirtation with California has gone on long enough. And bring the Giants back with you, while you're at it.

At the Rush concert last night at Irvine Meadows THOUSANDS of fans were left waiting in line in the parking lot as the band played. We arrived an hour early and still missed the first 15 minutes of the concert (wich cost $65).

Clear Channel, the organizer, wasn't able to handle the volume of people. What's the deal? They knew how many tickets were sold.

Its simple, there's no corporate motivation for providing customer satisfaction at these large venues. Anybody have any ideas?
