NAACP Mistake

George W. Bush is making a huge mistake in not attending the NAACP convention. Yes, the leadership is filled with a bunch of race-baiting, partisan hacks but what about the membership that Bush is now avoiding? He should go and speak the truth about how people like Julian Bond (he shouldn't name them) use certain tactics to scare the NAACP membership. For the next two weeks Bush will be smashed by the media, who won't bother to explain the aweful words used by the NAACP leadership, as being racially insensitive.

He'll get his chance when he speaks to the Urban League next week. As Dennis Prager says, a key measure of a society is the way it treats the bad elements within its ranks.

Bush has made it a practice not to lower himself into their fight. Is there dignity in avoidance?
