Black Eyed Peas

I saw the pre-game music for the Super Bowl. Charlie Daniels was cool but then the Black Eyed Peas came on. Look, if a band has to have a pretty girl bump and grind through the song then they probably aren't that good. Well, they weren't. At least Earth, Wind and Fire were on a bit but the show could not be saved. The game is quite a bit better than the Black Eyed Peas and now it is time for Paul McCartney.

I didn't see the pregame, but the Black Eyed Peas song, "Let's Get It Started" has become a high school sports rally standard around here. Seems like a good song, but one of those I can't hear all the lyrics, so maybe there's something I shouldn't like there.

Was that Jeff Beck on guitar with Paul?

"Hey Jude" I believe was a song of love and support to John Lennon's son, Julian, as his parents went through divorce. There's something so positive about an entire SuperBowl of fans singing a song of love for a struggling child during a difficult time. The contrast with last year is beyond description.

I agree with your comment about the Black Eyed Peas. I thought McCartney was great. It was surreal listening to the originator of those iconic songs actually performing them so many years later. Paul is just Paul, and always has been.
