Spotlight - Phil Wickham

Yesterday, a couple of co-workers and I went to the restaraunt of blink-182, Sombrero Mexican Food. While we were in there I recognized one of the other patrons, Phil Wickham and his father John. I've seen Phil a few times at Maranatha Chapel in Rancho Bernardo, a San Diego suburb. Phil is an amazing worship leader and writes great songs. His music is pretty mellow but not cheezy mellow. In some ways his music reminds me of Jars of Clay. Check out his samples on his web site.

I first heard Phil when our church had a 24 hours of prayer. His cd was playing and the song "still your love goes on," was playing. I was hooked, I own the cd now, and I have listened to it at least 50 times and it is still awesome. Just good pure worship. "High above" is my favorite song.

I totally agree. Phil's music is awesome!! My favorite song is "You are everything!" I first heard his music while listening to Mike Macintosh online (horizonsd.org). Phil was the guest worship singer. I was completely blown away. I rushed to the nearest Calvary church and purchased his CD. His music brings you right to the Throne Room.

I first met Phil at Calvary Chapel Green Valley Lakes Camp. I went to Calvary Chapel Grass Valley for a long time where I knew him and Shawn Cimino there. He, my friend Dustin and I hung out a few times. Phil's a great guy I know he did Flood in San Diego for a while as well and thats where he curretly resides.
