George W. Bush on Terri Schiavo

CNN.com - Supreme Court rejects Schiavo appeal - Mar 17, 2005

With time running out in the case, President Bush weighed in on the matter Thursday, saying society and the nation's courts "should have a presumption in favor of life" on such matters.

"Those who live at the mercy of others deserve our special care and concern. It should be our goal as a nation to build a culture of life, where all Americans are valued, welcomed and protected -- and that culture of life must extend to individuals with disabilities," Bush said in a written statement.

I just can't believe someone is going to actually remove the feeding tube of someone who has their eyes opened, responds to others and is not in a vegetative state. This is sad and a stain on our society. The fact that so many want her killed is horrid.

It seems unthinkable, doesn't it? Hmmm. I suppose there are not enough rational thinking people out there. Just us God bloggers; and thank goodness for George W, for at least making an effort and taking a stand. At best, we will know that we did all that we could to try to save her. Yes this will be a big big nasty stain on us as human beings, if Terri dies.

Are you people insane? Do you even know what yo are taking about? Maybe if you read the news, or maybe if your highschools didn't have maths and physics book that dated back to the days when Moses was climbing mount sinai, with astrological figures that we thought were correct in the 1970's and have since learnt better, you might have realised that her cerebrial cortex (not that you know what that is) is entirely degenerated (that long hard word you are trying to pronounce means it was 'eaten away') The reason why she is responding to stimuli (changes in the environment) is because she can detect the change, but she doesn't know what it really is. In other words, she doesn't recognise her mother, she just smiles because she (half blind) can see shadows moving, and is capable of telling the difference from when shadows are moving to when shadows aren't moving. She is still brain dead. And no respectable neurologist would say otherwise. And with a Cerebrial cortex that size, there is nothing stem cell research can do, and there is no way she is not permanently vegative. If Terri dies it not bring a stain on you as humans... it will show that you are not a Christian fundamentalist society to the BONE.... Let's remember, you are still executing mentally sick people (Anthea Yates) because a sorcerer wrote in a 2000-year-old spellbook that its a good idea. Do you know where else in the world people are executed by the state? China, Iran, Iraq, Saudia Arabia and North Korea. Fundamentalists, communists and Fascists. Is that the group you see your country in? You are supposed to be the biggest, the strongest, the best! and until the Supreme Court intervened you were executing retarded people in Texas? What is wrong with you people? Are you all as brain-dead as Schiavo? Do you know that, apart from the fundamentalist Arab world, Texas is the only place in the WORLD, in the WORLD, where it is actually AGAINST THE LAW for women to exercise their reproductive freedom and have consensual sex before marriage. What is this, the stoneage? Or are you guys Comedians? you want to run the world? you want a healthy economy? you expect countries with a history and culture that dates back to centuries to know less about things like warfare and adaptation than you do? You? Three-hundred year old settlers that disown their European Heritage? Did you know that more than Half of the american children in high school cannot point out Europe on a map? I'm not talking point out Germany or Romania.. i mean EUROPE... THE CONTINENT. IF Terri Schiavo dies and so terminates her meaningless existence, which is as she wanted to in the first place, it will show the world that you people still have a figment of democratic consensus left.

We all have the right to determine whether we want to have our life sustained if we must be dependent on a ventilator to breathe or a feeding tube to keep us from starving to death. And yes, as difficult as it is for some to make these decisions when we don't know what we would choose if in that state, we should do this.

Whether Terri Schiavo can improve or cannot, she never clearly stated what she would want. She was in her 20s, and this, I believe, is not a usual subject at that age, let alone written wishes.

What we are seeing here is a decision by her adulterous husband with children being allowed to
maintain guardianship despite making a new life with a live-in girlfriend, for the last 10 years!

So much has been put forth on the internet (I've followed for two/three months) of the whole case and yes, the refusal of any kind of therapy for Terri for many years by Michael Schiavo. He would allow nothing despite statements by nurses that, before he denied any therapy, she was talking, saying, "Mommy", "Help me", "Pai ", interpretted as pain.

If you choose to discount the bloggers who worked tirelessly to find the facts, any other media ignored the whole serious matter.

UNTIL, March 18 WHEN THEY FOUND IT TO THEIR BENEFIT TO JUMP ALL OVER IT!

Last weekend Michael Schiavo stated on TV that Terri made a CASUAL comment(s) that she wouldn't want to llive that way.

One of his brothers stataed, on TV the following week that Terri and Michael PROMISED each other not to let the other live this way. What? a breathing machine, a feeding tube?

OBVIOUSLY, one of them, if not both are lying.

Then listen to a woman who responded to questions by I think, Greta Van Susteren, during this last week. She knew Michael well. He felt comfortable talking to her. As to Terri, he told her he didn't know what to do. He said they had never had any discussions on the subject.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. You are fully aware of all the information put forth.

Are you still insistent that this lying, cheating husband should call the shots?

If you know what are you talking about why is your letter a stupid tirade difficult to understand? You have a hard time clearly expressing your ideas and this tells how much you hate Americans and Christians. By the way, there is only one kind of Christian. The ones adding all kinds of attributes to the noun Christian are as confused as you are.

You Germanic people have a loose screw in your head when it comes to killing others with disabilities. Germans under Hitler were killing the kids that were wetting their beds. No killing is right no matter if it is in Darfur, China, Romania etc.

Yes, this USA is the best because here every life is important and people must not be summarily executed or killed by Criminals like Judge George Greer. And George Bush is wrong because he does not have the balls to take his job seriously and stop this mercy killing; his duty is to defend the defenseless and stand up to the militant judges who are encroaching on his executive powers.

But God who reigns is always right in His ways.
Germany squashed Norway like a little bug and afterwards the proud German hordes were defeated by the inferior, not worthy to live East Europeans, this in order to teach them humility and to show them: "So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that hath mercy" Paul's letter to Romans 9:16.
By the way I was born in Romania and we have a say: If you are stupid stay home. In your case shut-up.
