Kanye West Acting Like An Idiot

Tip to Drudge.

My Way News - Kanye West Rips Bush During NBC Concert

Appearing two-thirds through the program, he claimed "George Bush doesn't care about black people" and said America is set up "to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible."

An idiotic statement by a really untalented performer. Why can't these "entertainers" hide their hate for George Bush for a good cause. Put the focus back on fixing the problem by giving to Samaritan's Purse and put your contribution here so all the contributions can be tracked.

Technocrati Tags: and .

UPDATE: This entry was a bit harsher of Kanye West but after reading Hugh Hewitt's post about focusing on the situation (following the example of George W. Bush) I changed it.

UPDATE 2: I shut down the comments on this entry because the racists have decided to come out.

Yeah, and Time magazine placed him on the cover and called him "The Smartest Man in Music".

What a joke.

an idioc statement? not untirely... while i don't believe it's a race issue, it's definately a show of eneptitude by the u.s. government

they had days to get something ready for something they knew was coming, and here we are how many days later and finally there is some support? pathetic

kanye a really untalented performer? now there's an idiotic statement

please don't tell me you listen to hilary duff or ashley simpson

Yeah, what a joke. Condi Rice is black! George Bush cares about Black People very much! He just doesn't care about looters, thugs, or poor people.

idioc - idiotic

grrrr... can you self edit?

Posted by: threespleens at September 3, 2005 09:48 AM

ditto on the INEPTness of my spelling

I hate George Bush, and I think he really blew this one. As I watch my brothers and sisters rotting (2,000 remain in the dome) in a dessicated shithole of an arena, I see that Kanye, however stupidly, was expressing the kind of rage and powerlessness many of us, especially AFrican Americans, feel right now.

Good to see Kanye West is not the only idiot: so is everyone that has commented so far on this post (besides me, of course).

Excuse me, but this was a failure of LOCAL and STATE government: the federal government always moves in AFTER disasters to lend support and funds.

1.) 9/11: strong local and state leadership FIRST, then the feds move in.
2.) Every hurricane that rips through Florida: strong local and state leadership FIRST, then the feds move in.

By the way, I stubbed my toe this morning...that was Bush's fault too.

Posted by: the daily missive at September 3, 2005 04:51 PM

you stubbed your toe? moron
sad, very sad

Kanye is a retard, so is most everyone else on here. It's New Orleans' job to take care of New Orleans. When you need an ambulance in NO, do you call Washington DC? No, the city and state were unprepared. Don't blame the federal government. The problem with NO is they have too many poor blacks in one area. They should move them around. Stick some in the woods in North LA.

Posted by: Harry Dick at September 4, 2005 09:13 AM

so 9/11 was new york's fault that the airplanes weren't stopped? i mean, new york should take care of new york right?

all levels of government, local, state and federal are looking pretty damn stupid right now

we are going on a WEEK now and people are still dying out there simply from not getting water

pretty tough for those ambulances in new orleans to drive through the ten feet of water... but maybe new orleans has a few dozen helicopters sitting around

if someone needs to be stuck somewhere, i think you need to be stuck in new orleans right now, in the woods of course

The federal government is a huge bureaucracy, that thing does not move quickly at all. Think about it, the only damage control that the feds had to do on/after 9/11 was to find survivors in one piece of a city. Now, they have (from what I hear) 90,000 square miles to deal with; they must plan and activate 30,000 people. Thats not easy, regardless of what governemnt it is.

Here is the issue, it just so happens that most of the RECORDED looters are black, I did see a video of a few mexicans. I know there are white people looting too, perhaps there are less looting in the first place AND/OR they are looting where the cameras are not on location. That does not matter, the fact that it is George Bush's fault is outrageous. If John Kerry was president would people be blaming him for slow response? What about Al Gore?

All this hate for Bush is driving people to blame him for the racism and slow response.

Look at who we are relying on for information about this disaster. I dont trust the media to give me the full story anyway. If anything, the people who run the media are the racists for showing mostly african americans looting.

kanye west is an asshole and a terrible entertainer. he was a few seconds away from bursting into tears. his speech was equal to a 5year old that just scratched his knee. good thing he's "the smartest man in music". i hate it when black people pull the race card, specially in a delicate time like this.

Kanye said: "...if you see a black family it says they're looting... if you see a white family they're looking for food" Way to represent Dude!

What do you call it when someone comes out of Wal-Mart with a 27" TV, 10 fishing poles, and a trashcan full of beer? Is that stuff for survival? How about the thugs shooting at recuers and their helicopters? Why didn't Kanye mention them?? Hmmmm... Seems that he has turned a blind eye to all that - and I don't know about you guys but I haven't seen a whole lot of white families on TV from New Orleans. Fact is, poor black people make up almost 30% of the entire population there.

Kanye, it's not a BLACK thing... its a POOR thing!
What a dumbass. He's hopping on the race wagon with the rest of the idiots like Al Sharpton.

The blame for the slow response begins with the local and state governments. New Orleans had NO PLANS for evacuating the sick, poor, and infirmed. That is unexcusable.

Kanye West is not an idiot, he is an opportunist and a fool (hey, that puts him in good company with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Al Gore, and Hillary Clinton). The difference between "white people" taking and "black people" looting is simple: anyone would be justified in taking food and clothing during a disaster, but "taking" a 52" Plasma Television in the middle of a Flooded City with No Electricity is not only stealing...but stupid!

There is ONLY one reason the recovery and rescue of New Orleans is most definately racial: THE WELFARE STATE. Take a look at the recent Tsunami: people were doing their best to take care of themselves. Even our own 9/11 Attacks showed people helping themselves and each other. But, all we have seen in New Orleans is a majority of blacks standing with their hands out demanding that they be taken care of. They do nothing for themselves, and expect you, me, and the government to take care of them.

The thing that really gets me upset is that we will continue to pander and care for these Welfare State Recipients even MORE now. Houston, Baton Rouge, Memphis...BEWARE! You just inherited thousands of new leeches on your welfare system. I gaurantee you that we will have serious racial and welfare issues in Texas within a year.

So, yes Kanye West...it is about race. But, the issue is why can't black people take responsibility for themselves. Why can't black people behave civily? Why can't black people adhere to the laws of this country? Why do black people use racism as a crutch for every bad thing that happens to them?

uh, 9/11 and new orleans can not be compared to that

the reason why you didn't see people "standing with their hands out demanding that they be taken care of" is because after 9/11 they could stroll on home

they still had their clothes, bed, food and family

the only thing people in new orleans have on their property is a new swimming pool

not the swimming pool for a backyard bbq on a nice summer day either

numbnuts
