Bush acknowledges secret order for domestic spying - Yahoo! News
"In the weeks following the terrorist attacks on our nation, I authorized the National Security Agency, consistent with U.S. law and the Constitution, to intercept the international communications of people with known links to al Qaeda and related terrorist organizations," he said.
"This is a highly classified program that is crucial to our national security," Bush said.
While many politicians try to get a political upper hand, President Bush does all he can, legally, to fight terrorism. It seems there are only a few in Washington who really remember 9/11. Of course, if it happens again they'll all get on the Capital steps to sing "God Bless America" again. Now is not the time to go soft on terrorism but it seems we are heading down that path. Dang it! Renew the flippin' Patriot Act now and get down to business of stopping terrorism.
