Silly Hollywood Awards Shows

Now is that horrible time in entertainment when Hollywood gets together and has award show after award show. I guess the Golden Globes just happened and many of the winners were based on characters with homosexual themes. If Hollywood wants to have small sales then they can keep putting out movies that appeal to a very small segment of the population. Their agenda of pushing alternative lifestyles is just quite silly. Their hatred for Bush and conservatives blinds them and makes them push their way out of the mainstream agenda. If they keep doing this then it will keep them from influencing culture at all, which is a good thing.

So Hollywood can keep putting out crap, give themselves awards for that crap and have very little relevance in our culture.

You must be referring to Brokeback Mountain. This movie is about two men who fall in love but try to do what they consider is the right thing: repress their feelings, marry women, have children and get on with their lives. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for either of them. I don't consider this movie to be "crap." Its theme of unrequited love, temptation, and heartbreak is something we can all understand. Why are some of us lucky enough to fall in love and settle down with the right person, while others must endure lives full of secret desires?
I agree that Hollywood puts out a lot of garbage. You can trash the mainstream formulaic comedies and big budget shoot-em-up action films. I'll take Brokeback Mountain over these movies any day.
