Security in DC a Bit Overdone

One of the things you notice the most about DC is security. Every flippin' building has metal detectors and X-ray machines. It seems the terrorists have suceeded as some level. There are hardly any trash cans! The terrorists want big and significant targets. We should guard the major ones but some things are a bit overdone. I'm not sure the Postal Service museum warrants armed guards, metal detectors and X-ray machines.

In DC, as in NYC and probably all other major cities, everyone must keep up appearances. If the Postal Service Museum did not have the same level of visible security as other sites in the District, the Museum would be admitting that they (and Postal workers) are not as important as others.
