Endorsement: Bono for Head of World Bank

NewsMax.com - Snow: Bono Could Head World Bank

Treasury Secretary John Snow on Sunday would not rule out the idea of Irish singer Bono, an activist on debt relief and AIDS, making the short list of potential candidates to lead the World Bank even though an American is expected to get the job.

Broken Masterpieces fully endorses Bono of U2 as the head of the World Bank. He's not corrupt and has a heart for this type of work.

UPDATE: Remember, this is pretty much a phony baloney job so I think the symbolism works. Again, Bono for head of World Bank. Now it looks like a replacement has been found to take Bono's place in U2.

TAS - Bring on Phil Gramm

The American Spectator - Treasury This Moment

Gramm would lend extra heft to a Bush Administration desperately trying to build support for two critical issues it will press in the coming years: overhauling and simplifying the tax code, and partial privatization of Social Security accounts. Both issues were important to Gramm in his Senate days, and his genial public face and tough talk are thought to be a plus in making the public appeal on these issues.

Phil Gramm was "conservative before conservative was cool". I even have a Gramm for President sticker from 1996. Let's get someone with some passion on economic issues to be a true advocate for tax reform and social security reform. It would also be nice to get someone in the administration that would try and fix the spending mess as nobody on Washington seems to want to fix that problem.
