Hugh Hewitt: Signing one of the Best Free Agents - I really like what HH has to say about Tony Snow. Snow is one of my favorite commentators/hosts. He is very quick on his feet and seems like a real good guy. My wife and I try to find some decent news broadcasts and we used to be able to do OK with the cable nets. That is no longer the case. The shame of these shows! Sean Hannity really wants to talk about Aruba or Duke U crimes? These are not stories that are worthy of a national audience. I just can't believe how much air time is wasted on stories that really don't affect our lives. ABC News: Bob Woodruff on the Road to Recovery It's great to see ABC News Anchor, Bob Woodruff, making progress from his injuries suffered in Iraq. This is great news. I get up and turn to Fox News Sunday and what do they throw at me, an interview with Donald Trump in regards to Martha Stewart. Not a good nor serious move. This is the domain of Entertainment Tonight or something. Chris Wallace and the good people at Fox couldn't find something more relevant? Tip to RealClearPolitics. Newsday.com - Kerry Rumor - the 'Mucky' Media Whiffed At least I got one thing right :). UPDATE: So the major media got one right but at the same time ran with the Bush/AWOL story with only rumor and innuendo. If the stories were switched and it was a Bush/adultry and a Kerry/AWOL story then we know that they would have went after Bush and waited for confirmation and facts for Kerry. Tonight on CNN's Newsnight with Aaron Brown they are doing a story on Nicholas Kristof's helping to free sex slaves. The Joke Is on Liberals, Says Dennis Miller, Host of His Own Show Again From 6-9 AM TODAY, listen to fellow blogger, Kevin McCullough filling in for Mark Larson on 1170 KCBQ. If true then he's an idiot and possible criminal. I'm watching CNN Headline News and they are talking about the Dean flag over Dean smacking down the Iowa Caucuses (sp?). The reporter, Kelly Wallach, used the term "dissing" when speaking about what Dean did in the tapes. Dissing? Yes, let's use slang in our news reporting. Hat tip to Mark Roberts. USATODAY.com - Freewheeling 'bloggers' are rewriting rules of journalism Check out this Washington Post story about the language being used on TV and, basically, what a joke the FCC has become on this issue. I just wish the FCC would lay down some clear guidelines. It probably won't matter anyway as our society keeps getting more coarser by the day. This Washington Post article about the fake turkey is a waste of space. It is such a waste that I shall not comment anymore on how dumb it is. I can't believe I've not been reading this guy as he's kind of the father of compassionate conservatism. Check out Marvin Olasky. Newsmax is reporting that Al Franken is in talks to host a radio talk show. All I can say is, bring it on! Al Franken is on the looney left. His vision is so clouded with hatred for Bush and other conservatives that he's illogical and just makes an idiot of himself. Let's get Michael Moore a talk show also. This CNN story about how the History Channel says that LBJ and his aides helped plot the assasination of JFK. This is worse than what CBS was going to do to Reagan. We need to be as outraged about this smear on LBJ as we were about Reagan movie. I'm so sick of seeing most of all the news shows spending a good portion of time on the Laci Peterson and Kobe Bryant cases. Talk about "adding to the noise". Let's just turn that junk off. I want info on Iraq and terrorism, judicial appointments, laws being passed, etc. I'm just glad that we've got the internet so we can get some real news. Newsmax is running a poll on Rush Limbaugh. Take the time and voice your opinion. I'm watching Meet the Press and Russert has Bob Novak, Dana Priest and David Broder talking about this whole Wilson flap. What is being said is that it's JUST the government's job to protect classified information. It's not up to the reporters to do anything but verify and report. Anyone who is willing to report on classified information is despicable. They use the cover of "protecting sources" to justify their position. Look, you are an American FIRST, then a reporter. If you are the other way around then you cannot be trusted as a patriot. Anyone who's willing to leak/report classified information is not a friend of America or the American people. The amount of money that is being wasted by trying to find the leaker in the White House is rising and Novak can stop this right away. This person can be found, debriefed, fired and prosecuted. If Novak is not willing to reveal his source then he needs to go to jail. Congratulations to the king of talk radio, Rush Limbaugh, on 15 years of Excellence in Broadcasting. Rush has been the true conservative leader and this country is much better off because of it. So Al Gore wants to get into the media business to spread liberalism. Sorry Mr. Gore but ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN already beat you to it. Most of the liberal talk is soundbite type slogans; "prescription drugs for all", "raise the minimum wage", "blah, blah, blah". That's about it. The conservative artists who grace talk radio such as Hugh Hewitt and Rush Limbaugh actually explain conservative principles behind the soundbite. The problem with the liberal soundbites are that behind them is more taxes and more spending and way too much government interference with the free market. There will never be a liberal talk radio host with near as much influence as the conservatives because there isn't really much to say other than "rich people are greedy", "George W. Bush is a liar", etc. Bring it on "algore". My new favorite TV show is Scarborough Country on MSNBC at 7:00 PM PST. It's hosted by former Congressman, Joe Scarborough. All you Fox News folks, turn off Greta and go to MSNBC and watch Joe, then go back to Fox News. He's very articulate but keeps a good sense of humor. He is responsible for this great phrase, "Freedom isn't free, unless you live in France." I've been pleasantly surprised at MSNBC's coverage. They even seem to understand that it's OK to root for the good guys. Love Joe Scarborough's show. Way better than Greta on Fox. I miss David Bloom and Michael Kelly. They were the best of the best. David Bloom was way cool riding in the desert for MSNBC. Michael Kelly was frequently on the Hugh Hewitt show.
