Evangelical Underground - Finding A Niche Within A Niche 6. Either you are a Christian blog or a Political blog, there is no “spoon.” Look, let’s be real. You aren’t going to put a different spin on the war in Iraq, and no, you won’t be able to work God or your faith into every post about Carl Rove. Pick a niche and stay with it. While I’ve ventured into the political arena often, I’ve always returned to my religious niche. I always maintained my blog’s identity as being of a religious nature. Very interesting commentary. My blog seems to have stradled both the political and religious. I look at my blog as commentary on almost anything from my own journey of faith. I'll have to ponder this a bit more. RssReader - free RSS reader displays any RSS and Atom news feed Do you wonder what or mean? It means that the information is published for something called RSS (Real Simple Syndication). Go to the link at the top of this entry and find out more. My computer uses RSS Reader and I get notified when blogs and news I care about get updated. Check it out. Keep the Switchfoot blogs coming. Great SF pictures also. Just found a new blogger who also digs Switchfoot. Tip to Crosswalk.com - Kevin McCullough's Weblog KMC gave me the tip that Senator Brownback, from Kansas, is blogging during his trip to South Asia. This is great and I hope more leaders will do the same. the evangelical outpost: Buying a Ticket: Joe, over at Evangelical Outpost has created a new blog roll of Evangelical Christian blogs. Click early, click often for a wide variety of blogs from an Evangelical perspective (and that perspective isn't always in lock-step). I've added the lost of blogs on the left under the heading "Evangelical Blogs". STINGY AMERICANS and Liberals who CARE... KMC takes on the silly comments by Jan Egeland, the U.N. undersecretary general for international aid. Kevin explains that compassion is not just measured by how much a government spends on the aid. Money donated to the charities that Kevin lists will be used much more wisely than the UN (see oil for food). The American people will rise to the occasion using charities, not just the government. Christian Carnival Historical Documents MSN Spaces is a free Microsoft Blog site. Go for it! Much thanks to Allah Pundit for the linkage! ~Neophyte Pundit~: Christian Carnival XXXVI This week Neophyte Pundit is hosting the latest Christian Carnival of blog posts. Found this lefty blog from my comments section. I don't agree with much they say they provide a good place to see the other side. Please take a look at this newly discovered blog by a Vietnam Veteran. Many thanks to Right Wing News (Conservative News and Views) for the “Website of the Day” plug. Us amateurs are always a bit geeked up when the professionals recognized us. Thanks John! Another San Diegan and worth the read - ToreroLaw. Conservative Dodger Fan in "The Biz" Sounds a bit like me. Check out the above blog and make sure to bookmark/blogroll it. Patriot Paradox is hosting the latest Christian Carnival. As always, some great reading. Reflection: Anti-Semitism Today -- A Personal Response - a further look at the ugliness of anti-Semitism. Please review yourself and get a grasp at the gravity of anti-Semitism on Jewish people. Was Jesus Married? A Careful Look at the Real Evidence - spurred on by the popularity of the book, The Da Vinci Code. Another pastor is blogging at Front Range Bible Blog. Please check out this blog as it's done by women who've experienced an abortion and want to share their experiences. Via BitsBlog and Ipse Dixit I've found the Election Projection blog. Interesting elections stuff. Check out Neophyte Pundit's new blog as he's moved off of blogspot. I've found another blog where the title is inspired by a Switchfoot song. The blog is "Welcome to the Planet" and the title comes from my all-time favorite rock song "Dare You To Move". To see a live performance of the song go to this Yahoo Launch Site. I decided to call into Mark Larson's show that Kevin McCullough was hosting and got right in. We talked blogging a bit and then Kevin continued to push this site even after the break. I was also able to mention Neophyte Pundit and Switchfoot. I just wish that Kevin could be heard in San Diego more often. Mucho thanks Kevin. Courtesy of Miller's Time. Check out Pastor Bud's blog. I'm in the hunt for more blogs like this and, again, want to encourage more pastors to begin blogging. I'm very happy to point out a couple of blogging clergy; Mark Roberts and Ray Pritchard. This is a trend I'd like to see grow. Any pastors out there that would like to start a blog, then please give me an email (trogers at brokenmasterpieces dot com) and I can help you out or can refer you to many other bloggers that would do the same. Please click here. It's a simple request from a blogger (Sgt. Hook) about to deploy to Afghanistan. Please click before midnight on New Year's Eve. Hugh Hewitt has had Mark as a frequent guest on his show and I'm glad to see he's got a blog up and running. Make sure to add to your favorites. Many thanks to by blogfather, Hugh Hewitt. He's listed my blog under a new title called "The God Squad". How cool is that? Right Wing News has published a great list of the 20 most annoying liberals. Be sure to check out American RealPolitik every day. Always has great quotes and great cartoons. To get a good glimpse into the evangelical's mind keep checking these blogs out (along with mine ). Neophyte Pundit These are just ordinary folks that do this blogging stuff as a hobby. Tip of the hat to Hugh Hewitt. Wizbang Blog has created the 2003 Weblog Awards. Take a look and nominate your favorite blogs. Please take a look at the latest Lileks. Check out Vigilance Matters. A great site for checking whether some things are true in the news is Spinsanity. I may not agree with everything but they say, but they make an honest effort to get to the truth. This latest entry on some myth started by Robert Sheer of the LA Times about giving money to the Taliban in 2001 before 9/11. Hat tip to InstaPundit. Lileks speaks for many of us here. A bit of language but worth it. Make sure you check out the links on the left side, especially the one titled "My Blog Roll". Also check out my favorite blogs here. Welcome back to the blogosphere.... Check out BushCheney2004 for the following articles: We Must Fight Fire With Fire -- Literally Vast Majority of Iraqis Find Hardships Acceptable for Ouster of Saddam Some of you may already be familiar with Kevin McCullough but if not, this is his blog. I'm going to permanently link his blog. Definitely worth checking out. I am in awe of how good Power Line is. They are the best. We are not worthy.February 12, 2007
