Senate Republicans Have A Plan - To Stay In The Minority

Trent Lott returns to Senate leadership - Politics - MSNBC.com

Lott returned to the center of power by getting the position of vote-counting GOP whip, nosing out Sen. Lamar Alexander. Sen. Rick Santorum told reporters that Lott beat Alexander by a 25-24 vote.

They can't be serious! Trent Flippin' Lott? This is a great lesson on how not to return to power. The dumb statements he made in honoring Strom Thurmond were just a great excuse to get rid of an ineffectual leader. He's become a pork prince (the senior Senator from West Virginia is the pork king) and not someone we need in leadership. It's time for some new blood in the Republican party.

Bill Frist Sounds Like....

Jeff Foxworthy. I just saw Senator Frist speaking on CNN on the Senator floor in regards to Terry Schiavo and he sounded just like the "you might be a redneck if" guy.

Shame on California

Crosswalk.com - Kevin McCullough's Weblog - Barbara Boxer Blowback

Scroll down a couple of articles to read a bit more about the shame of California, Barbara Boxer. I still can't believe the Republican party couldn't find someone to fund and run against Boxer. There is nobody less deserving a Senate seat than her and she's won 3 elections. Why? I just don't get it.

More Obama

Tip to K-Lo at The Corner

Quad-City Times Newspaper Online - the Quad-Cities Home Page

“We had an election. The Republicans won it,” he said of the presidential race. “They should be able to put their agenda forward. It should be debated vigorously and respectfully.”

Obama gets it. It's not about trying to be sore losers but about getting things done. The debate is good, the constant blocking via filibuster is not good.

Worst Campaign Ever?

My greatest disappointment in this 2004 election is the California Senate race. Bill Jones seems like a good candidate and is running against one of the worst Senators, Barbara Boxer, but I've not seen one TV ad for the guy. Who is running the show there. This should have been an easy victory but I've seen nothing about Jones on TV or even heard him on the radio. Ugh!

Bill Jones for Senate

The most pro-abortion Senator is up for re-election. Bill Jones is challenging her. On the life issue differences, check here. To see his stands on other issues go here. I will be sending some money for Jones and hope others will do the same.

What About Ditka?

FOXNews.com - You Decide 2004 - Ditka 'Excited' About Idea of Ill. Senate Run

He's more qualified than Ted Kennedy (and many other Senators) and at least he's worked his butt off to get where he's gotten.

Please Don't Run

Sun-Sentinel: South Florida news

This article states that Katherine Harris will NOT run for the Republican nomination for Senate in 2004. This is good news. I want Mel Martinez. Harris can run in 2006.
