'God' Gap Closing

WP: 'God gap' narrows in U.S. politics - washingtonpost.com Highlights - MSNBC.com

With this inroads into Christianity with books like Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality, Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith and Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul Republicans need to realize the there is more to Christianity than being pro-life and against gay marriage. Christians are also realizing that they need to not only care but find ways to help fight AIDS, poverty and hunger. Organizations such as the One Campaign, Invisible Children and lowercase people are waking up Christians to other issues. This is not just a battle for a small set of issues but has gotten bigger. Republicans need to address all these issues to begin winning back Congress and some of the hearts of people of faith. It can't just be talk either, we want to see action. I believe a lot of Christians feel used by the Republican party.

But Mr. Shuler, the election of more conservative Democrats still puts ultra-liberal Nancy Pelosi in charge. Republicans need to send out the message to more conservative areas that it's about leadership of the House. Of course, we must have some leaders worthy of the votes. If we have some good leaders then the campaign ads for the House in 2008 is asking the question of who you want in charge, ultra-liberal Pelosi or TBD. Line up their positions side-by-side and let the voters decide the leadership. This is easy folks.
