ABC News: Video Suggests Explosives Disappeared After U.S. Took Control

This whole weapons cache issue, whether a big or small cache, makes me wonder why those weapons aren’t immediately destroyed. I just don’t get it.

It’s really unclear to me even as a Kerry supporter how militarily important this story is, outside of the political hay being made of it. There are a thousand things happening in wartime, good and bad. Is this incident really an example of a Commander in Chief dangerous error? My initial impulse is to say, “No.” I’m voting for Kerry, but this particular incident wouldn’t be on my personal list of why I’m voting against Bush.

I agree as many errors happen in war (if this is really an error). I’m just wondering why weapons aren’t just destroyed when found. Gather them up, take them to a clean place and destroy them so they can’t come back to haunt us.
